Tennessee football: What CFP rankings should be after Week 9 of 2022
No. 1 AP and Coaches Polls
Outside of Tennessee football, the Georgia Bulldogs have by far the best quality win of anybody on here. They blew out the Oregon Ducks 49-3 in the opener, and the combination of style points and that level of dominance against an elite team is enough to say they are currently one of the top two teams in the nation.
However, their schedule has been extremely weak since them. The only other FBS team they have played currently with a winning record are the South Carolina Gamecocks on the road in Week 3, and we all know that South Carolina team is lucky to be above .500 right now.
Georgia’s schedule strength is about to go way up, though. Obviously, they have a huge showdown with Tennessee football this weekend, but they still also have to visit the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Kentucky Wildcats after that. If they get to 11-0 with that slate, they belong at No. 1.
In fact, with that slate, even losing one gives them a case. Oregon, by the way, is No. 8 in both polls and 7-1. They now look like the favorite to win the Pac-12 Championship, which shows just how impressive Georgia was with that victory to open the season.
