Wideouts

Jalin Hyatt has been the star for Tennessee football over the past four weeks, but that has a lot to do with matchups. Wideouts still have a huge role to play. Bru McCoy was the leading receiver at the LSU Tigers, and Ramel Keyton had two touchdown receptions against the UT-Martin Skyhawks. Both have been key without Cedric Tillman.

Well, Tillman is back. He had just four catches for 22 yards against Kentucky, but that was to shake off the rust. McCoy had six catches for 54 yards. Now, starting opposite each other, they have a chance to take back over as the stars. particularly Tillman given what he has proven.

Running game

Jaylen Wright had seven carries for 73 yards against Kentucky and stood out because of two of his long runs in which he stayed on his feet after being hit. However, this aspect of Tennessee football isn’t being touted the way it should, and it has everything to do with Jabari Small.

Recently, Small’s averages have been down. He averaged barely over three and a half yards a carry against Kentucky, carrying it 21 times for 78 yards. However, that has to do with lots of short-yardage plays in which Josh Heupel calls his number. These two are still very reliable, and with Hendon Hooker, they can move the ball a lot on the ground.
