Once again, Hugh Freeze faces an SEC team. He’s doing it with talk surrounding that he may return to the league now that Auburn is looking for a new head coach. Needless to say, Tennessee football fans are probably glad they didn’t hire him now that Josh Heupel is so successful.

Anyway, Freeze leads the Liberty Flames into Fayetteville a year after he put up a fight against his old school in the Ole Miss Rebels. Liberty’s only loss is by one point on the road to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, and their play has now gotten them to No. 23 in both the AP and Coaches Poll.

On the other side, the Arkansas Razorbacks stumbled amidst a three-game losing streak earlier in the year, but then they beat the BYU Cougars and had a bye to regroup, coming out of that with a blowout win over Auburn. Sam Pittman’s team could get back into the top 25 with a win Saturday, and it could help erase the pain of that loss to Texas A&M that they shouldn’t have.

Prediction

It’s all about the line of scrimmage in the SEC, but Arkansas’s defensive line is honestly awful. That’ll actually be enough for Liberty, coming off a bye, to move the ball and make this a game. Freeze’s offense is why this hits the over. Arkansas will be forced to make it a shootout, and they’ll win late, but that level of scoring is why Liberty covers.

Arkansas: 41 Liberty: 31 (Arkansas +14.5; Over 61)
