Welcome to another forgettable SEC game between the two teams Tennessee football closes out this regular season against, both on the road. It’s actually a huge matchup, as one has the goal of an SEC win this year, and the other has the goal of a bowl. This is the best shot for both to clinch those goals, so it could be an intriguing matchup.

Just as South Carolina was giving off vibes that it’s an elite program, Shane Beamer’s team got beat pretty significantly by Missouri. Sure, the score was only 23-10, but they weren’t ever really in contention during that game. It pushed back bowl eligibility by a week and knocked them out of the top 25.

Meanwhile, the Vanderbilt Commodores are coming off a bye. They most recently lost a 17-14 heartbreaker to that same Mizzou team. However, they get this game at home, and while Clark Lea’s team is already much better than last year, an SEC win could prove a substantial jump.

Prediction

This is the most difficult line of the week. All South Carolina has to do to cover is not turn the ball over. That’s been a problem for the offense, though, and the defense usually makes up for it, but Vandy doesn’t turn it over. At home and coming off a bye is enough for Vandy to hit a couple of shots. They cover, and South Carolina turnovers result in the under hitting, but S.C. still wins.

South Carolina: 23 Vanderbilt: 19 (Vanderbilt +7; Under 48.5)
