If we’ve got Tennessee football upsetting Georgia, and we do, then we have to have the Vols winning the first half. The Vols are a better first-half team anyway, as they outscore their opponents by 18 in that half and then by about 10 in the second half. That’s not just because of their blowout wins either.

UT beat the Alabama Crimson Tide because it built a 28-10 lead in the first half and was up 28-20 at halftime. The Vols jumped out early on LSU, winning the first half 23-7 before finishing with a 40-13 victory. Even in their overtime win at the Pittsburgh Panthers, they won the first half, meaning they were obviously better then.

Against Florida, the Vols won the first half by three and the second half by two. Okay, that’s a bit cute, as they were leading the second half by 14 and let the Gators score two late touchdowns. Still, they technically were better in that half, as they have been in every game this year.

Taking all this into account, you may want to take the Vols +200 on the first half moneyline. However, if you aren’t as confident about the Vols actually winning the game and want to hedge, they’ll still keep it within a touchdown in that half.
