2. Hendon Hooker over 1.5 passing TDs (-148)
Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change
Once again, you have to take the whole year into account. Sure, Georgia’s got an elite secondary, but Hendon Hooker is the Heisman Trophy frontrunner. He hasn’t failed to throw under two touchdown passes in any game this season, so what makes anybody think he won’t be able to do that in this game?
Even if Georgia forces Tennessee football to move the ball, the Vols are bound to have at least three players where they can hit the receiver over the top in any game just due to Josh Heupel’s schemes. On top of that, Hooker has thrown plenty of touchdowns in the red zone this year.
Honestly, this is the type of game where it’s more likely Hooker throws a touchdown pass. That’s because Georgia is committed to quarterback containment over pressure, and their pressure is even worse now with Nolan Smith out. As a result, Hooker will be forced to throw more, and he’ll have more time to throw.
That makes it extremely likely he’ll have more touchdown passes. Honestly, three is a good bet in this one. He had three last week against Kentucky and five against Alabama, the two most comparable defenses to Georgia’s. Of course he’s going to have two in this game.
