Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change

In a shocking twist, this game doesn’t have the SEC West implications we thought it once would. Both teams lost to LSU, who now controls its own destiny to win the West, so this is a matchup just to keep from being eliminated in the race. Playoff hopes are still alive in this one, though.

How does Nick Saban get Alabama ready for this one? This is the first regular season game they will play since 2010 with no prospect of a national championship. That heartbreaking loss at LSU may have wrecked their morale. Still, they are No. 9 in the CFP, No. 10 in the AP Poll and No. 11 in the Coaches Poll, and Tennessee football needs them to win for their resume.

On the other side, Ole Miss is at home and coming off a bye. Lane Kiffin’s team still has an outside shot at the playoff, something that will be more real if LSU can stumble and they can pull this game out. Ranked No. 11 in the CFP and AP Poll and No. 9 in the Coaches Poll, they could certainly approach the top five with a victory.

Prediction

Coming off a bye, playing at home and having much higher morale after what happened to Alabama last week should all favor Ole Miss. However, this team is vastly overrated. It’ll show in this one. Alabama may have nothing to play for, but they can pour it on in Mississippi, and that’s what they’ll do in a blowout. Both teams will score enough for the over.

Alabama: 49 Ole Miss: 24 (Alabama -12; Over 65)
