Despite getting back on track in a big way, Tennessee football wasn’t able to do enough to move up a spot in our SEC Power Rankings. However, there wasn’t really any room for them to jump given where they stood last week. The win did more firmly cement their spot, though, and they certainly aren’t going to fall anytime soon.

With two weeks left, our power rankings have a clear-cut top five and a clear-cut order for that five. However, it gets murky for every other team, and another huge upset this past weekend threw these rankings for a loop. As we have said in the past, there is a recency bias to these rankings, and they matter here.

The SEC Championship is now set, as both teams clinched their respective divisions Saturday. The number of teams clinching bowl eligibility is now at nine, and three are in the playoff hunt. Let’s see where they all stand, including Tennessee football, in our Week 11 SEC Power Rankings.

The Tennessee football Volunteers are in the same spot with the Southeastern Conference following Week 11 of 2022.

Lost to Auburn Tigers 13-10

Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M Aggies continue on a downward spiral, and it’s clear this team has quit on itself. How often do you see a program enter the year a top 25 team with the No. 1 recruiting class and then guarantee themselves a losing record? That’s exactly what this team did over the weekend with this loss to the Auburn Tigers.

If you take out a fluke play against the Arkansas Razorbacks, they could easily be 2-8 right now. It’s not like they are a bad team in terms of talent. They just don’t have the mental toughness or the will to keep fighting, and with no bowl in play now, it’ll probably get worse.

A&M at least gets a break with the UMASS Minutemen coming to town this weekend. After that, though, they have to face a red-hot LSU Tigers team that is not the same team who lost to Tennessee football back in the start of October. Also, how up will they be for that UMASS game? Is 3-9 on the table? It just might be.
