Tennessee football unchanged in Week 11 SEC Power Rankings
Defeated Arkansas Razorbacks 13-10
Reality had to set in for Brian Kelly and LSU last Saturday. At the end of the day, they still have a first-year head coach and are very mistake-prone. Sure, they can beat Alabama at home on a good day, but they can also lose to anybody. Heck, they did lose the opener to FSU that way, and Tennessee football blew them out.
That blowout was at least evidence of how great the Vols were, as nobody did that to LSU when they had one of their ugly games, but it shows they need to be careful. Nonetheless, this team clinched the SEC West with last Saturday’s win and is firmly in the running to reach the College Football Playoff now.
Kelly has had a great first year, and LSU is a dangerous program. It’s the easiest place in the nation to recruit talent, so watch out. Down the road, you might see a dynasty brewing, especially if Kelly is able to pull off the season he has been having this year.
Now the job is finishing the season. A home game against the UAB Blazers should be a win, but then they can’t slip up at Texas A&M. Although LSU is the better team right now, A&M is loaded with talent, so anything could happen in that one, especially since it’ll be their national championship game. Simply put, LSU must be careful.
