Lost to Vanderbilt Commodores 24-21

How laughable is it that just three weeks ago we were considering the possibility of the Kentucky Wildcats giving Tennessee football a game? The Vols began the process of killing Will Levis’ draft stock by beating them 44-6, and it’s only fallen further since then. There’s no defense for Mark Stoops’ program after what happened last week.

UK should have lost each of their last three games. An extremely unlucky roughing the punter penalty against the Missouri Tigers gave them that game. That lucky win combined with the loss to the team that was easily the worst in the SEC before last week is enough for us to put them down here now.

Now, there will be no 10-win season, and it may be the first Stoops-led team to underachieve in his 10 years coaching the program. Lucky for Kentucky, basketball season is now underway, but this is a loss they certainly did not want to have. The season could get uglier now.

On Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs have to come to town, and that’s looking like even more of a blowout. Then the Wildcats host a pretty good Louisville Cardinals team that should be well-positioned to end its three-game losing streak in the series, so watch out.
