Tennessee football unchanged in Week 11 SEC Power Rankings
Lost to Florida Gators 38-6
It really does seem like South Carolina is exactly what we thought they were. Okay, so they beat a Texas A&M team that turned out to be terrible. Since then, they have lost to Missouri and Florida, and neither was particularly close. Looking back, Shane Beamer’s team didn’t do anything impressive on the year.
We mentioned A&M being awful. It turns out Kentucky’s pretty overrated too, and South Carolina beat them when they didn’t have their quarterback. Their other win is over Vanderbilt, which was between their losses to Mizzou and Florida. The point is, they don’t look that impressive.
Now, Beamer still has them in a bowl game, but they play ugly, and Spencer Rattler has shown every reason he was benched last year with the Oklahoma Sooners. Honestly, this team would be 4-6 if Kentucky was healthy and A&M hadn’t just decided to quit on the season.
The best South Carolina can hope for now is to play playoff spoiler. They welcome Tennessee football to town this weekend, and then they visit the Clemson Tigers. Both the Vols and Tigers will have pressure to outperform the other against South Carolina, but Beamer’s team could change that themselves with an upset somewhere.
