Tennessee football unchanged in Week 11 SEC Power Rankings
Lost to Tennessee Volunteers 66-24
Sure, Mizzou should’ve beaten Kentucky and Auburn, they did beat South Carolina, and the played Florida and Georgia close. However, Kentucky isn’t that good anymore, there has been plenty to criticize about South Carolina all season, and Florida has been up and down. Really, playing Georgia close is their only selling point.
Then came last weekend, and they got blown off the field against Tennessee football. Even if you want to make the case that this team should be 6-4, and they should, losing like that, as they did to the Kansas State Wildcats, shows Eli Drinkwitz’s program is still on a much lower level.
As a result, they fall back towards the bottom tier of our SEC Power Rankings, and you have to question why Drinkwitz’s contract was extended at this point. The good news for them, though, is that a bowl berth remains a strong possibility given how they close out the year.
Up next is a home game against the New Mexico State Aggies that should get this team to five wins. Then they have a huge showdown with the Arkansas Razorbacks, and that game is at home. As a result, six wins is certainly on the table, and that would be a surprise finish given everything they have dealt with.
