Tennessee football unchanged in Week 11 SEC Power Rankings
Defeated Texas A&M Aggies 13-10
Yes, Auburn gets to jump this much in our SEC Power Rankings. Remember, these rankings are based on how you’re playing at the time, and while Auburn is probably not going to a bowl game in a lost season, firing Bryan Harsin and replacing him with Cadillac Williams was clearly the right move to spark the program.
This group played extremely hard at Mississippi State two Saturdays ago and then scored a nice win over Texas A&M. Okay, so A&M is reeling and has quit on the season. Well, Auburn had too before Williams took over. Tennessee football fans know all too well what it’s like to quit on a program and a season, so give Auburn credit for playing hard here.
Williams is probably not a candidate for the full-time head coaching gig, but he’s clearly a fan favorite as a legend there, the players love him, and he can get the most out of everybody. How will that translate to them closing out what has been a difficult season?
Well, it starts with beating a dangerous Wester Kentucky Hilltoppers team at home, one that is 7-4 under former Tennessee football offensive coordinator to Jeremy Pruitt Tyson Helton. Then they have to visit Alabama, and quite honestly, that one seems impossible.
