Stars of the week

Trey Smith – OL – Kansas City Chiefs

He didn’t play in Week 5, and then the Kansas City Chiefs had a bye in Week 8. After that bye, though, Trey Smith has come back fully healthy, and he has been getting better by the week. It showed up more than ever this past weekend as they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-17.

For his part, Smith had an 80.9 PFF grade. He was part of an offensive line that didn’t allow a sack on Patrick Mahomes all game and also paved the way for over five yards a carry, as the team had 27 carries for 155 yards. All Tennessee football fans love seeing Smith do well, as his story and loyalty to UT make him a fan favorite, and he is now living up to that hype.

Cameron Sutton – DB – Pittsburgh Steelers

Despite the 60.8 PFF grade suggesting he struggled, Cam Sutton actually had a huge role in the Steelers’ 20-10 win over the Saints. He appeared in 100 percent of the snaps and had two solo tackles while the Saints were held to 10 points and just 174 yards passing.

There was a knockdown by Sutton that wasn’t officially recorded as a pass deflection, and the first of two sacks on Andy Dalton was a coverage sack, so Sutton deserves credit for that as well. He has really been coming on strong for the Steelers as of late, and this was more evidence of that.
