Former Vols who didn’t play

Joshua Dobbs – QB – Cleveland Browns

Although the Cleveland Browns lost 39-17 to the Miami Dolphins, Jacoby Brissett wasn’t at fault too much, so Tennessee football likely isn’t going to see Josh Dobbs start anytime soon.

Inactive

Matthew Butler – DL – Las Vegas Raiders

After appearing last week in the Raiders 27-20 loss to the Jaguars, Matthew Butler didn’t play in their loss to the Colts.

Marquez Callaway – WR – New Orleans Saints (just didn’t play)

The final former Tennessee football player for the Saints, Marquez Callaway was shockingly not on the final depth chart as they lost to the Steelers.

Velus Jones Jr. – WR – Chicago Bears

Amidst an up and down start to his NFL career, Velus Jones Jr. was held out of the Chicago Bears’ 31-30 loss to the Detroit Lions.

Former Vols on practice squads

Micah Abernathy – DB – Green Bay Packers

John Kelly – RB – Cleveland Browns

Jonathan Kongbo – DE – Denver Broncos

Josh Malone – WR – Pittsburgh Steelers

Khalil McKenzie – OL – Baltimore Ravens

Michael Palardy – P – New England Patriots (bye week)

Last week was the first time Michael Palardy was signed with the New England Patriots, and he was on a bye this week. He and Josh Malone are increasing Tennessee football’s numbers in the pros, but the star power was depleted this week. Still, Trey Smith deserves a lot of credit for the work he put in out there.
