Here is the other reason the Pac-12 has no playoff hope outside of USC. Still, this is a game with Pac-12 Championship implications, and the loser is eliminated, so it remains an exciting game worth paying attention to late at night. It’s also a rematch of last year’s Pac-12 title game.

The Oregon Ducks’ shocking loss to the Washington Huskies last week was a relief to Tennessee football fans, who needed them eliminated. Ranked No. 12 in the CFP and AP Poll and No. 13 in the Coaches Poll, they have to get past the team that beat them twice last year. With a Pac-12 title looming, they’ll be looking to get over that hump.

On the other side, the Utah Utes come in ranked No. 10 across the board. They are the top team with no shot at the playoff. If not for a shocking loss to Florida to open the season, that would be different, as the only other loss for Kyle Whittingham’s team is on the road to UCLA, and they are the only team to beat USC.

Prediction

A look back at Utah’s play all season shows they are not a good team on the road. Also, Oregon is different under Dan Lanning than they were last year. As a result, Oregon will pull out the victory in this late-night matchup. Utah won’t get the blitz it’s gotten all year, so Oregon scores enough for this game to hit the over.
