Here’s an SEC East matchup involving two teams who have gotten significantly better in recent weeks. Okay, that’s relative for both of them, but it makes for a game that may be worth watching, as both are in the process of trying to build programs, even if that’s relative too.

The Vanderbilt Commodores, after knocking on the door, finally got their first SEC win under Clark Lea last Saturday, shocking the Kentucky Wildcats. Vandy did what it wanted to do this season, proving it has improved leaps and bounds over last year, and they beat a bowl team. A second straight win over a bowl team would be huge.

On the other side, though, the Florida Gators are starting to find themselves as a program under Billy Napier. They scored back to back blowouts over Texas A&M and the South Carolina Gamecocks. Remember, this team put up a fight against Tennessee football, and a top 25 finish is not out of the picture.

Prediction

Florida is playing lights out right now. As a result, despite what Vanderbilt did last week, the Gators are going to run them off the field. Take them to cover. In the process, they’ll dominate defensively, so Vanderbilt won’t score enough for the game to hit the over.

Florida: 45 Vanderbilt: 7 (Florida -14; Under 57.5)
