A couple of plays is keeping this from being an epic top 25 SEC West matchup like it was last year. That doesn’t mean it’s not an intriguing game, though, and honestly, one team has a lot more to play for in this one than another. It’s not the team you think either.

Sam Pittman’s Arkansas Razorbacks are a couple of fluke plays away from being 8-2, but they should be 7-3 at the very least. Instead, they’re 5-5 and desperately trying to reach bowl eligibility in what has been a disappointing third season. Still, scoring a top 25 win at home would be a nice way to salvage how things went down.

Ranked No. 14 across the board, the Ole Miss Rebels are coming off a heartbreaking loss at Alabama last week. Lane Kiffin may go back to trolling Tennessee football now with the West out of reach, but he first has to make sure he can get by what will be a tough road matchup. After all, a New Year’s Six bowl is on the table.

Prediction

Reaching bowl eligibility is much more to play for than a New Year’s Six bowl. As a result, Arkansas is more desperate. Also, Ole Miss has been playing with fire against inferior competition. Take Arkansas here in an upset. They’ll control the clock and the tempo, so the game hits the under, and the Hogs score a huge win.

Arkansas: 31 Ole Miss: 27 (Arkansas +5.5; Under 65)
