It’s not an SEC vs. FCS game, but like Texas A&M and UMASS, it’s extremely close. However, this is an interesting matchup because it once again involves two teams with something to play for, both bowl eligibility in this case, and the loser of this one will be eliminated. All of a sudden, this SEC vs. Group of Five matchup gets interesting.

Eli Drinkwitz’s Missouri Tigers could easily be 8-2 right now, as they lost four games by one score. Two of those were due to fluke plays, so they should at least be 6-4, and another was a blown fourth quarter lead. Still, in spite of all that and last week’s 66-24 loss to Tennessee football, a bowl berth is on the table if they win here.

On the other side, the New Mexico State Aggies got off to a horrendous start their first year under Jerry Kill, falling to 0-4. However, they have won their last three, and while part of that has just been the schedule getting easier, there are signs of progress. Kill is also a great coach.

Prediction

Mizzou doesn’t blow out anybody, and Kill has New Mexico State getting close. As a result, betting against Mizzou to cover is the best play here. Their defensive line will also return to form, so take the under. Still, Mizzou pulls out the victory in an ugly one.

Missouri: 31 New Mexico State: 10 (New Mexico State +29; Under 46.5)
