2 catches for 57 yards, 1 TD

Again, being a playmaker in key moments was big for Tennessee football in this one. In addition to Bru McCoy, a few other pass-catchers came through at times. Ramel Keyton deserves a shoutout, as he only caught two passes for 33 yards, but they were key catches over the middle to keep the Vols in the game.

Princeton Fant had the biggest catches, though. The versatile tight end continues to find ways to reach the end zone, and he did it again here. On a second down play just past midfield, South Carolina defenders all keyed in on Jalin Hyatt, so Fant found himself wide open over the middle.

Hendon Hooker delivered a perfect strike to him, which he took into the end zone for a score. At the time, it cut South Carolina’s lead to 35-31, and you just felt that the Vols were about to permanently take control. Unfortunately for them, their defense would never get another stop.

In the first half, Fant also had a key 16-yard reception on 3rd and 5 that put the Vols in field goal range as they trailed 28-14. They finished with three points on that drive, so both of Fant’s catches played a role in helping the Vols score, and that was enough to put him on this list.
