Stars of the week

Cordarrelle Patterson – RB/KR – Atlanta Falcons

He was the biggest star from Tennessee football earlier in the year before he got hurt. Coming back from injury, though, Cordarrelle Patterson hasn’t missed a beat. Last weekend, he had 10 carries for 52 yards and two catches for seven yards, further proving that his transition to running back this late in his career was a great move.

Most notably, though, Patterson had a kickoff return for a touchdown in the Atlanta Falcons’ 27-24 win over the Chicago Bears. He had fumbled the previous drive, which resulted in a touchdown for Chicago, but this made up for it. The score also made Patterson the all-time leader in career kickoff return touchdowns with nine.

Joshua Palmer – WR – Los Angeles Rams

8 catches, 106 yards, 2 touchdowns in 30-27 loss to Chiefs

Over the past few weeks, Josh Palmer has been slowly emerging onto the scene for the Los Angeles Rams, and he upped his breakout game from two weeks ago with another one here. Palmer had eight catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Although they lost, Palmer became more of a fixture in the offense.

Trey Smith – OL – Kansas City Chiefs

On the other side of Palmer, another second-year former Vol also starred. Trey Smith started every offensive snap for the Chiefs in their win over the Chargers. He had an 89.3 PFF grade, second highest on team, as he paved the way for KC to have 27 carries for 163 yards while the unit allowed just one sack.
