A star-studded Week 11 could not be replicated by former Tennessee football players in the pros during Week 12. There were no clear-cut standouts despite more people playing, and some of the notable former Vols actually played pretty poorly. Nobody was on a bye week either, so the opportunities were even greater.

Still, it’s not all bad news from Rocky Top. In fact, there were actually a few solid performers, one of whom broke through for a milestone on the season. Some other players, while not being stars, were serviceable and saw more action than they have seen all year.

As usual, we’ll look at stars, those who saw significant action, those who saw limited action, those who only played on special teams and those who did not play. Let’s dive into our Tennessee football Week 12 NFL recap of 2022 by looking at those stars of the week.

Jauan Jennings – WR – San Francisco 49ers

In a defensive struggle that saw the San Francisco 49ers beat the New Orleans Saints 13-0, Jauan Jennings made the play of the game. Jennings scored the only touchdown of the game, hauling down a Jimmy Garoppolo that was tipped in the air.

Vol fans are familiar with such plays by Jennings, who finished with six catches for 49 yards and that one score. It was his first touchdown of the year, and he continues to show why he is more of a. gamer than anything and deserves more touches.

Shy Tuttle – DL – New Orleans Saints

Opposite Jennings, his former Tennessee football teammate Shy Tuttle was extremely productive at defensive tackle for the Saints. It wasn’t his fault they lost to the Niners. Tuttle only played 37 percent of the defensive snaps, but he still maned a tackle for a loss, a quarterback hit and five tackles, four of which were solo.
