Former Vols who only saw action on special teams

Morgan Cox – LS – Tennessee Titans

As the Tennessee Titans fell 20-16 to the Cincinnati Bengals, Morgan Cox still did his part. He was in on 10 special teams snaps. Five of those were punts by Ryan Stonehouse, who continues to have a legendary year. Stonehouse averaged 53.8 yards per punt over the weekend.

In terms of field goals, Caleb Shudak kicked four of them and made three. He also made his only extra point, so Cox saw plenty of action. Clearly, not making all four field goals was a problem, but Cox still snapped for nearly perfect special teams on the day.

Michael Palardy – P – New England Patriots

Signing with the New England Patriots and having a bang of a return last week, Michael Palardy was bringing back the Punter U title to Tennessee football. However, he took a step back this week, averaging just 41 yards per punt and 37.3 net yards per punt on three punts in the Pats’ 33-26 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Theo Jackson – DB – Minnesota Vikings

He keeps seeing his play increase, and Theo Jackson was in on 82 percent of special teams snaps on the other side of that Vikings game against the Pats.

Justin Coleman – DB – Seattle Seahawks

Appearing on just 35 percent of special teams snaps, Justin Coleman didn’t rack up any stats in the Seahawks’ loss to the Raiders.
