Tennessee football Week 12 NFL recap: Jauan Jennings’ first TD of 2022
Former Vols who did not play
Joshua Dobbs – QB Cleveland Browns
In the Cleveland Browns’ final game before Deshaun Watson’s return, Joshua Dobbs was Jacoby Brissett’s backup one more time and didn’t play as they scored a 23-17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Tennessee football quarterback may be inactive by next week.
Bryce Thompson – DB – New Orleans Saints
Also on the roster, Bryce Thompson was the one former Vols who didn’t appear in the Saints’ loss to the 49ers. Although defense wasn’t the problem, perhaps he should see more action.
Inactive players
Kendal Vickers – DL – Las Vegas Raiders
Matthew Butler – DL – Las Vegas Raiders
For the second straight week, both Tennessee football defensive tackles on the Raiders were inactive, this time as they scored that overtime win over the Seahawks.
Former Vols who were injured
Derek Barnett – DE -Philadelphia Eagles
A torn ACL in the opener ended Derek Barnett’s season.
Emmanuel Moseley – DB – San Francisco 49ers
Just like Derek Barnett, Emmanuel Moseley is out with a torn ACL he suffered against the Carolina Panthers.
Ja’Wuan James – OL – Baltimore Ravens
In this year’s opener, Ja’Wuan James suffered a torn achilles. That has resulted in his second straight season-ending injury.
Former Vols on practice squads
Micah Abernathy – DB – Green Bay Packers
John Kelly – RB – Cleveland Browns
Jonathan Kongbo – DE – Denver Broncos
Josh Malone – WR – Pittsburgh Steelers
Khalil McKenzie – OL – Baltimore Ravens
Jauan Jennings’ first touchdown of the year and the key role he played for San Francisco in that win can’t be overlooked. It’s ironic that Tennessee football’s two best players in the pros this past week saw action on fewer than 50 percent of snaps on their respective sides of the ball, but they were highly productive nonetheless.
