Three days after a dominating 94-40 win over the Alcorn State Braves, Tennessee basketball takes the court again for its third and final home game against a lesser tier opponent. This is right before the Vols begin a two-game brutal stretch against Power Five opponents.

Ranked No. 7 in both polls, UT welcomes the Eastern Kentucky Colonels into town. Rick Barnes’ team comes into this outing on a six-game winning streak and will be pushing the top five if they can win their next two, including one against a ranked team after this one.

Eastern Kentucky comes into this game on the heels of a 97-80 loss to the James Madison Dukes last Friday. That was their first game since before Thanksgiving. Here is all the information you need for Tennessee basketball’s matchup.

Led by fifth-year head coach A.W. Hamilton, Eastern Kentucky returns three starters from last year’s team that went 13-18 last year. They also added Western Kentucky Hilltoppers transfer Isaiah Cozart and freshman Tayshawn Comer, who have been effective.

Speaking of WKU, they only lost to that team 66-60 earlier in the year, and they beat the Georgia State Panthers on the road. They also have a red-hot offense that’s in the top 20 scoring and hits over 10 three-pointers a game, so they are dangerous.

On the other side, the Vols’ offense has come and gone, but their defense has been dominant. They got Josiah-Jordan James back Sunday for the first time since before the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament, but they were without Santiago Vescovi. Each player’s status is still up in the air.
