Coming off a 69-39 win over the Chattanooga Mocs last Tuesday, the Tennessee Lady Vols are back in action for their their fifth straight home game in a six-game home stand. It’s their second of three straight game against a non-Power Five opponent.

Kellie Harper’s team welcomes the Wright State Raiders to town. UT is looking to get above .500 for the first time this year. They at least haven’t lost to a non-Power Five team at home yet, so this shouldn’t be as difficult as other attempts.

Wright State comes into this game having lost their last five. They most recently lost 72-47 to the Marshall Thundering Herd on the road. Here is everything you need to know about the Tennessee Lady Vols’ matchup.

Led by second-year head coach Kari Hoffman, Wright State has had a difficult time replacing  Katrina Merriweather, who led Wright State to the second round of the NCAA Tournament two seasons ago and in 2019. Merriweather is now head coach of the Memphis Tigers.

Hoffman returns just two players and one starter from last year’s team, Channing Chappell. Pretty much the rest of her rotation is made up of transfers, and it’s pretty obvious to this point that they haven’t fully meshed yet.

On the other side, Harper has to retool the roster to a degree after the news that Tamari Key will miss the whole season due to blood clots in her lungs. Key missed their win over Chattanooga before the reports were confirmed.

Rickea Jackson and Jasmine Franklin have also missed the last two games, and Jillian Hollingshead, who is likely to be Keys’ replacement, missed the game before that. Simply put, she has some work to do in the post.
