Stars of Week 14

Trey Smith – OL – Kansas City Chiefs

He didn’t have quite the game he had a week ago. In fact, the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive line as a unit was much worse. In their 34-28 win over the Denver Broncos, they only paved the way for 89 rushing yards on 23 carries, and they also allowed Patrick Mahomes to be sacked twice. However, Trey Smith was a star.

As every Tennessee football fan knew he would be, he is officially a steal for KC now. Smith was in on 100 percent of the plays, and he had a blocking highlight reel at one point. In the second quarter, Mahomes threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Jerick McKinnon. Smith blocked two players on the play, and that was enough to put him on here.

Darrell Taylor – LB – Seattle Seahawks

For the second straight week, Darrell Taylor was seeing limited action with the Seattle Seahawks. Pete Carroll has been using him as a situational pass rusher. However, he may want to start using him more, as Taylor is making a huge impact in the process in his return from injury.

Taylor had a sack for the second straight week along with two quarterback hits in the Seahawks’ 30-24 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He racked up those stats despite playing on only 17 percent of the defensive snaps. It’s probably time for his reps to increase given his production.
