Josh Heupel is about to have some rebuilding to do on the offensive line, and finding top-notch junior college talent is one way to do it is. Tennessee football is now trending for such a prospect originally from Georgia who attends Coffeyville Community College in Kansas.

Keyshawn Blackstock, a four-star on Rivals and 247Sports and a three-star on ESPN and ON3, has the Vols in his top five. Initially from Covington, Ga., Blackstock has been with the Montgomery County, Kan., community college since 2021.

Joining Tennessee football on the Newton High School graduate’s list are the Oregon Ducks, USC Trojans, Oklahoma Sooners and Michigan State Spartans. He announced the schools with a video Wednesday night on Twitter.

Standing in the range of 6’4″ and 6’5″ while weighing in the range of 290 to 315 pounds, Blackstock is listed as a guard on Rivals, an interior offensive line on 247Sports and ON3 and an offensive tackle on ESPN. As a result, he seems more like a guard, but tackle could be in play.

Given his list, Heupel and the Vols should be best positioned to land him on location alone. Covington is just outside of Atlanta, so he would be a lot closer to home, but it depends on whether or not he missed home being away in Kansas for two years.

Either way, though, the Vols need immediate experience and talent on the offensive line, and Blackstock would bring that to them. As a result, this list is a very encouraging sign for Rocky Top with the early signing period just around the corner.

Currently, there are no favorites on the Rivals Future Cast or the 247Sports Crystal Ball. The Rivals Fan Future Cast has the Missouri Tigers as the favorite by a plurality, but they didn’t make the cut. ON3 has Oregon the majority favorite.

However, the Auburn Tigers, South Carolina Gamecocks and Illinois Fighting Illini are No. 2 through No. 4 on that site, so anything could go there since none of them made the cut. Simply put, Tennessee football is in it as much as anybody.
