This past year’s success is going to make Tennessee football popular with receivers across the nation, and Josh Heupel has plenty of talent from the Sunshine State now looking at his program. The Vols are trending for an elite 2024 Florida wide receiver now.

Joshisa Trader, who attends Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Fla., has the Vols in his top five. Standing between 6’1″ and 6’2″ and weighing in the range of 175 to 180 pounds, Trader is a five-star on Rivals, ESPN, 247Sports Composite and ON3 Consensus. He is a four-star on 247Sports and ON3.

Although a student at a Broward County school, Trader originally hails from Miami, Fla., and yes, the Miami Hurricanes also made the list. Joining Tennessee football and The U for the Miami-Dade County Prospect are the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles and Ohio State Buckeyes. ON3 announced his list on Christmas.

Given his collection of schools, it’s pretty clear Trader is favoring staying home. However, that means Ohio State and the Vols must be offering him something organic for him to want to leave, especially UT since they aren’t in the College Football Playoff and have still never yet made it.

Heupel’s Florida connections probably help, though, as his high-powered offenses while coaching the UCF Knights likely had a ripple effect across the state. Back-to-back 1,000-yard receivers on Rocky Top can only further the excitement players at that position have for his offense.

Landing a guy like Trader would be huge for the Vols. Sure, they are already loaded at the position, but you can always add more talent, and Trader would be a dominant weapon for them. Given his size, he’s a guy who could play wideout or in the slot.

Still, it’s an uphill climb for Tennessee football to get him away from home. Miami is the unanimous favorite on the Rivals Future Cast. Ohio State, though, is the favorite on the Rivals Fan Future Cast and ON3. There are no 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions.
