Tennessee football week 16 NFL recap: Veteran RB reemerging
Former Vols who only saw action on special teams
Morgan Cox – LS – Tennessee Titans
With two extra points made by Randy Bullock and six punts by Ryan Stonehouse, who again averaged over 50 yards a punt, Morgan Cox was in on eight snaps as the Titans lost 19-14 to the Texans. He became another Tennessee football Pro Bowler too, earning his fifth of his career.
Michael Palardy – P – New England Patriots
As the New England Patriots fell 22-18 to the Cincinnati Bengals, Michael Palardy punted six times. He averaged 39.67 yards per punt and pinned one inside the 20.
Jalen Reeves-Maybin – LB – Houston Texans
In the Texans’ win over the Titans, Jalen Reeves-Maybin played 83 percent of special teams plays and had one solo tackle.
Theo Jackson – DB – Minnesota Vikings
Another rookie, Theo Jackson played 83 percent of special teams plays in the Minnesota Vikings’ 27-24 win over the New York Giants.
Justin Coleman – DB – Seattle Seahawks
Joining Darrell Taylor in playing in the Seahawks’ 24-10 loss to the Chiefs, Justin Coleman was in on 33 percent of special teams plays.
There were five Tennessee football players who could have been stars of the week, as Alontae Taylor and Trey Smith did their jobs in a big way. However, Alvin Kamara, Cam Sutton and Taylor were clearly the standout players. Plenty contributed this week, though.
