Tennessee Basketball: Recap of Vols’ 70-41 dominant win vs Georgia
By Blake Wyman
Tennessee basketball returned home yesterday and embarrassed the Georgia Bulldogs by nearly 30 points.
Rocky top was on cloud 9 last night as they slaughtered the Bulldogs on national television on their home court. Tennessee basketball showed yet again, why they deserve the No. 1 seed in march.
The Volunteers move to 17-3 and 7-1 in conference play. They are one of the best teams if not the very best team in the nation right now and continue to prove it.
Tennessee vs Georgia game recap
Out of the Vols’ 12 players that played yesterday, 11 of them scored. The Volunteers have so much depth and managed to put up 70 points, with no players scoring over 11 points. They completely shared the ball, and every single player contributed to this huge SEC home victory.
Point Guard Zakai Zeigler played another great game last night and led the team in scoring. Zeigler shot 43% from behind the arc, and also had 7 assists, and 2 rebounds. Zeigler continues to dominate and has been on one of the hottest streaks that he has ever been on.
3-point sniper, Santiago Vescovi, also played an important part in the Vols’ victory against the Bulldogs. He made 2 of his 3 shots from 3-point land, and also had an impressive 7 rebounds.
All in all, it was pure domination for the Volunteers. They outplayed them in every single statistical category and made the Bulldogs look like a JV high school team. Tennessee basketball’s defense continued to stand on its head last night too, only allowing 41 points is almost unbelievable, especially in an SEC rivalry game.
