Tennessee Lady Vols beat Arkansas 87-67 on the road: Two takeaways
By Blake Wyman
The Tennessee Lady Vols are heading back home to Knoxville after knocking off the SEC rival Arkansas Razorbacks.
The girls were on fire tonight and handed Arkansas their 9th loss of the season on the road. It’s never easy to win on the road, but the Tennessee Lady Vols were able to overcome all adversity and take home a commanding 87-67 victory.
Tennessee Lady Vols rode on the backs of two dynamic players
Jackson had arguably one of the best games of her season tonight and had the Razorbacks speechless after putting together a 25-point, 12-rebound performance. Rickea has been on a tear lately and has been putting the Lady Vols on her back down the final stretch of this season.
Jordan came alive tonight and dropped 15 points 6 assists and 12 rebounds in an absolutely stunning performance from the senior guard. If the Vols can continue to rely on the strong play of Horston, there will be plenty of more wins to come by, and maybe even a chance to go on a run in March.
Tennessee Lady Vols’ offense was on fire
On top of Jackson and Horston who helped lead the Volunteers’ offense, there were plenty of other girls that stepped up for the Lady Vols’ offense. Tess Darby had a fantastic game and scored 11 points and shot 50% from the three-point line
Another player that stepped up on offense was Jasmine Powell. She came off the bench in this game, and only played 22 minutes but still found a way to make a huge impact in this game. She had 10 points and shot 50% from the three-point line.
The Tennessee Lady Vols will hopefully continue this momentum further along into the season.
In their next game, they return home to face-off against the Auburn Tigers on Sunday.
