It was just announced earlier today that star Tennessee Basketball forward Olivier Nkamhoua has entered the Transfer Portal.

This was a bit of a shock to me, but I can’t say that I didn’t see any Vols entering the Transfer Portal over the offseason; I just didn’t think it would be him. He had a great season, even though, at times, inconsistent; he came alive when we needed him most. Nkamhoua was one of my favorite players to watch last year. Watching him dominate in the Duke game was something that Tennessee basketball fans will never forget.

What’s next for Tennessee Basketball?

As much as it may seem like a low blow for him to leave our squad, there isn’t anything to worry about. The Vols have faced adversity every day throughout the past season, and as long as Rick Barnes leads the squad, there is nothing to fear. Barnes is one of the best coaches of all time, and although he has struggled at points throughout the last year, he has been dealt some horrible hands.

Tennessee basketball had an incredible run last year, making it to the Sweet Sixteen despite losing their best player Zakai Zeigler. Many players have also entered the Transfer Portal besides Nkamhoua, one specific target I see is the star point guard from North Carolina, Caleb Love. Many reports have said that Love and the Indiana Hoosiers show mutual interest in each other; the Vols may start to show some interest after losing Nkamhoua. There’s more to come as the College Basketball offseason continues to unravel. Still, you will be missed, Olivier.
