Joe Milton is a true leader – Nico Iamaleava is living up to the hype.

On and off the field, Joe Milton continues to lead by example and is the glue that keeps this team together. In the Orange & White game, he put on a show, completing 9 of 13 passes for 79 yards and a touchdown. They alternated between 3 QBs during the game, so while the stats may not seem that impressive, watching him in person was like watching a magician at work.

According to Wes Rucker at 24/7 Sports:

"“Vols sophomore RB Dylan Sampson on Joe Milton III: I don’t think people realize we had two QB leaders last year. It wasn’t just Hendon. It was Joe, too, He’s been a leader.”"

Furthermore, Milton’s leadership doesn’t end on the field; it was also reported on Rockytopology:

"“Nico Iamaleava’s family brings him a lei to wear after every game, and they also brought Joe Milton III one to wear after the Orange & White game.”"

Joe Milton is embracing Nico in every way possible, guiding him through all of the ups and downs that top-level College Football will throw at him. As a transfer from Michigan, Joe Milton III has been through it all in his College career, and there’s no better person to mentor you than Joe.

Nico also had this to say about Joe Milton III:

"“[He’s] loudly and proudly under Joe Milton III’s wing every day, and he couldn’t ask for a better veteran to learn from every day.”"

In the Orange & White game, the freshman Nico Iamaleava was 8-for-16 for 112 yards and a touchdown. This was quite the performance for his first-ever time playing in front of 100 thousand fans, and with all the pressure on him, he did exceptionally well. Nico has a bright future and will only get better from here on out.
