Tennessee Football: Vols’ Offense Explodes Behind Milton and Thornton
By Blake Wyman
Tennessee Football‘s Joe Milton III and Dont’e Thornton are quickly becoming one of the most exciting quarterback-receiver duos in College Football.
The Likely QB1 for Tennessee, Joe Milton III, has had no shortage of ups and downs throughout his College Football career. Milton III is one of the most talented Quarterbacks in all of college football and will hopefully follow right in former quarterback Hendon Hooker’s footsteps next season.
Joe Milton III is originally from Florida and began his career at the University of Michigan in 2018. After Two seasons with the Wolverines, he transferred to Tennessee in 2021. At 6’5, 245 lbs, Milton III is known for his size and incredible arm strength. He has a reputation for being able to throw the ball deep and has even coined the nickname “Bazooka Joe.” Milton III lost several of his best receivers to the NFL Draft a few weeks ago, but there’s a new face in Rocky Top for next season, and his name is Dont’e Thornton.
Joe Milton III and Dont’e Thornton might be Tennessee Football’s next dynamic duo.
Dont’e arrived on Rocky Top as 6’5, 200-pound Junior. As a Sophomore this past season at Oregon, Dont’e had a good season with 17 receptions, 366 yards, and 1 touchdown. He will be an excellent addition to the Volunteer wide receiver room. Dont’e is an incredible deep threat, and if we have learned one thing from Joe Milton, he can certainly throw the ball far. Dont’e was a 4-star in the class of 2021 and ranked 57th nationally. He is, by far, one of the most talented players in the portal.
While there has been plenty of hype surrounding the new Tennessee Football Wide Receiver, he has also backed it up daily in Spring Camp. Thornton has been unbelievable in Spring Camp and is already starting to build a deep connection with Milton III, which can be a scary sight for anyone that faces up against the Vols next season.
Joe Milton III and Dont’e Thornton are two of the most exciting young players in college football, and next season will hopefully be nothing short of spectacular for Tennessee football and Volunteer fans all over the country.
