Tennessee Basketball: Which teams have the Volunteers never beaten?

Evansville
- Overall series record: 0-2
- First matchup: December 30, 1953
- Last matchup: December 22, 1962
- Last score: Evansville 68, Tennessee 51
Though the matchups were both over half a century ago, Tennessee has faced off against Evansville twice in their history, though both programs were virtually unrecognizable compared to today.
The first matchup came way back in late December 1953 as part of the All-American City Tournament. In a game played in Owensboro, Kentucky, the Purple Aces prevailed in a major way with a 107-71 victory over a Tennessee squad that finished the season under .500.
Nine years later, the two met up right before Christmas in 1962, this time on Evansville’s home court. The result was no different for the Volunteers, who fell 68-51, dropping their second game of that set.
61 years later, these two teams have not met up again, though you’d figure Tennessee would be a heavy favorite for some revenge in a matchup held today.
