TCU

  • Overall series record: 0-2
  • First matchup: November 30, 1991
  • Last matchup: January 30, 2016
  • Last score: TCU 75, Tennessee 63

For the last decade, TCU has been members of the Big 12, but before that, they certainly weren’t in a position to be regular opponents for the Volunteers. Still, there’ve only been two matchups between these schools, and the Horned Frogs triumphed both times.

The debut showdown came back in 1991 in the San Juan Shootout. TCU came away with a 73-59 victory, as Tennessee would lose both games in San Juan and start their season 0-3, while the Horned Frogs would win 23 games and finish third in the SWC.

Their second matchup came in much more modern times, as the two met up as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge. Neither team was particularly potent in 2016, but the Horned Frogs held serve at home, winning 75-63 for another double-digit victory over the Volunteers.
