Josh Heupel and Tennessee football have recently landed a 5-star wide receiver, a 4-star linebacker, and a top-notch 4-star offensive tackle. This dream team of recruits has Vols fans buzzing with excitement, and a look into a bright future is on the horizon on rocky rop.

Tennessee Football’s Newest 2024 Recruits

(WR) Mike Matthews ★★★★★:

Matthews is the highest-rated wide receiver to ever commit to Tennessee and will be playing right alongside fellow 5-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava in the coming years.

According to On3 Sports:

"“Mike Matthews earned all-region, all-county, and all-state honors in 2022 after catching 48 passes for 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also starred on defense with 23 tackles and two interceptions. Matthews is also a successful basketball player and juggles both football and basketball at the high school level. Matthews prides himself on his work ethic. “I want people to know you can always count on me,” Matthews said. “I want to be one of those guys. To be known for that rather than just being one of those five-star guys. I don’t really take breaks, even during the week. After practice, I’m always working and making extra effort. I’m about the effort and extra work.”"

(LB) Edwin Spillman ★★★★:

Spillman is one of the most talented LBs in his class and will make a huge addition to the Volunteer defense. He was recruited by all of the top-notch schools, including Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan, but chose to stay home as a Tennessee native and play for the Vols.

(OT) Bennett Warren ★★★★:

Warren officially committed to Tennessee just a few days ago and is the No. 5 ranked offensive tackle according to 24/7 Sports. Bennett is a monster of an OT and is one of the biggest in the entire country, regardless of class. Bennett is 6 feet-8 inches and weighs 330 pounds, and is a brick wall that can’t be tested.
