Tennessee football career passing leader No. 2: Casey Clausen (2000-03)

  • 9,707 passing yards
  • 75 passing touchdowns
  • 61.0% completion
  • 7.6 yards per attempt

From Peyton Manning, Tee Martin, to Casey Clausen, to Erik Ainge, the Vols had very strong quarterbacking for just over a decade. That allowed Phil Fulmer to have a ton of success, including the 37 wins across the four seasons that Clausen was the starting quarterback.

Tennessee only went 1-3 in bowl games to finish those four seasons, but with a Citrus Bowl victory in 2001, the Vols finished 11-2. It took until 2022 for the program to reach 11 wins in a year again.

2001 was Clausen’s best statistical season. he threw for a career-high 2,969 yards and 22 touchdowns to only nine interceptions.
