Tennessee football career rushing leader No. 8: Jay Graham (1993-96)

  • 2,609 rushing yards
  • 25 rushing touchdowns
  • 4.8 yards per rush

Jay Graham spent most of his career at Tennessee sharing a backfield with Peyton Manning, which meant a lot of team success for the Vols. He was a part of two double-digit win seasons that ended with Citrus Bowl wins in 1995 and 1996.

Those were Graham’s two best seasons, specifically ’95. That season, Graham carried the ball 272 times and finished with 1,438 yards on the ground, which was second-best in the SEC. He also caught 20 balls for 160 receiving yards and had 13 total touchdowns.

Graham’s career came full circle in 2020 when he joined Tennessee’s staff as the running backs coach under Jeremy Pruitt, but did not keep his job through the transition to Josh Huepel.
