Tennessee football: 4 players who (probably) won’t be back in 2024
By Josh Yourish
3. Kaleb Webb, redshirt freshman
Josh Heupel put together a strong recruiting class in 2022. A coach’s second recruiting class is supposed to be foundational and Heupel got great pieces with James Pearce Jr. who leads the team in sacks as a sophomore and Joshua Josephs, another impact edge rusher.
On offense, Dylan Sampson has been great in the backfield, but it does look like a few of the four-stars who were supposed to give this offense a boost just aren’t good enough.
The Vols need receivers with Jaylin Hyatt and Cedric Tillman in the NFL, but Webb, the top receiver from the Vols 2022 class hasn’t made an impact. He has just 10 catches for 109 yards and a touchdown
Webb did have four grabs in the blowout loss to Mizzou in Week 11, but he’s been a disappointment and could look for a new home this offseason.
