After a disappointing season for the Tennessee women's basketball team, many have been calling for Danny White to fire head coach Kim Caldwell. The Lady Vols have ended the year on a horrendous eight game losing streak and many feel that Caldwell has lost the locker room. If Tennessee were to move on from Caldwell these are three names that need to be targeted.

Robyn Fralick (Michigan State)

Fralick has completely turned around a Michigan State program that hasn’t had much success over the last 20 years. She has been a good coach at multiple levels, winning a national championship at Division II Ashland. She then took Bowling Green to five solid years before making theee straight tournaments in East Lansing.

Michigan State is now a No. 5 seed taking on Oklahoma Sunday in Norman. If the Spartans can make the Sweet 16 Fralick will be a very strong hire and a contender for top jobs.

Mark Campbell (TCU)

Campbell won the 2023 Big Sky Coach of the Year Award when he was at Sacramento State, with an 11 game turn around from his first season. Campbell is now at TCU where the Horned Frogs are 84-21 in his two seasons. He also won the 2025 Big 12 Coach of the Year leading TCU to the Elite Eight last year before losing to Texas.

Campbell has proven he can turn a program around, doing at the mid major and power four levels. He doesn’t have many regional ties to the southeast, but in the NIL era I don’t see this as much of an issue.

Aaron Roussell (Richmond)

Aaron Roussell is one of the highest rising Mid Major head coaches. Roussell has been a head coach since 2004 and has a very long list of accolades:

COACHING HONORS:

• 3× UAA COY

• 2× Patriot League COY

• 2× A-10 COY

• Mid-Major COY (2025)

• ECAC COY (2025)

I mean, Roussell has a terrific resume and has been coaching at a Richmond program where he has made the tournament the last three seasons. This would be a great hire, Tennessee would get a young coach with plenty of experience.
