You know what, the last time a Manning suited up for the Tennessee football team, things turned out pretty dang sweet. Yup, Peyton Manning is not only a Vol For Life, but he's a Vols legend. The man will always be loved in Knoxville.
Down the road, however, could his son follow in his footsteps and don an orange jersey at the next level? That's what people are already talking about, as Manning's eighth-grade youngster Marshall will officially enroll with the Baylor School in Chattanooga.
Manning's son is also a quarterback and despite his young age, he's already showcasing plenty of potential. As luck would have it for Josh Huepel and Tennessee, 5-star offensive tackle commit Gabriel Osenda is entering his senior year at Baylor School and he's poised to have a huge campaign. Could he get in Marshall's ear a bit early about also playing for UT? That's definitely on the table:

5-star OT Gabriel Osenda can start Tennessee recruiting early on Marshall Manning
Obviously, it's not going to be just on Osenda to get the younger Manning thinking about playing one day for Tennessee. However, Marshall is going to be brand new at the school and Osenda is the main main on campus when it comes to the football team.
It's safe to assume that Marshall is going to be looking up to him quite a bit. Tennessee also has the advantage with the simple fact that Peyton is a living legend, who was the No. 1 overall pick after his tremendous career with the Vols. His time in Knoxville included winning an SEC title and finishing runner-up in the Heisman Trophy voting to Charles Woodson (don't get us started on that).
Manning is a Hall of Famer and now it's time for Marshall to step into the spotlight. Yes, the focus for the Manning family will be on Arch and Texas this year, but soon enough, it will be time for Marshall to remind everyone that the Manning clan is stacked with QB talent.
We've still got several years until Marshall reaches the college level, but look for the Vols to work to turn his head sooner rather than later. The UT faithful would love nothing more than to see him play for Tennessee like his old man did.
