While the Tennessee football team was busy working overtime during the Early Signing Period, making things official with an unreal class, there was one prospect who left fans wondering what his future had in store: 4-star defensive back Onis Konanbanny.

Konanbanny remains a Tennessee verbal pledge, but he didn't make things official with the team in December, instead waiting for normal National Signing Day to put the pen to paper. With things arriving on Wednesday, though, it doesn't look like he'll be Knoxville-bound in the end.

The youngster is set to announce his college choice on Tuesday, but reports continue to fly in that he's going to flip to Florida. Last week, 247's Anna Adams put in her crystal ball pick for the Gators to land the 2025 playmaker. Tom Loy has done the same. This is something Josh Heupel is probably bracing for.

Konanbanny originally committed to Heupel and his staff in late August, but alarms went off when he chose to delay signing in December. At that point, it seemed like he had one foot out the door, especially with Billy Napier and the Gators making such a strong push to land him.

Throughout his recruitment, more than 40 programs offered Konanbanny, with him taking official visits to Tennessee, Florida, LSU, North Carolina and Florida State. His Nov. 22 visit to Gainesville was clearly eye-opening, with Napier and Florida giving him a lot to think about.

The standout CB is ranked the No. 32 cornerback in the country for his class according to the 247Sports Composite. Plenty of Vols fans were fired up when he committed to the program, but barring a bit of a stunner, the expectation is that he won't be suiting up for Tennessee in 2025. Instead, all signs are pointing to him making plays for Napier and Florida instead.
