Unfortunately, even more reports are coming out on Tennessee football defensive back/wide receiver Boo Carter. With that, all signs appear to be pointing in him leaving Knoxville this summer. We hope that's not the case, but it's hard to ignore what's coming out.

First, national writer Chris Hummer revealed that an altercation broke out between Carter and some of his teammates earlier this month. Because of that, he's been away from the program for over a week. That's not where the story ends.

Per Hummer, Carter has also made a switch in terms of his representation, deciding to move forward with Omar Cooper - the same agent who represents Ace Bailey. Go ahead and ask Utah Jazz fans all about that. Carter's old agent had no idea about the switch. Could this move by Carter and his family be leading to even more headaches in Knoxville for Josh Heupel and his staff?

What does this mean for Carter and Tennessee? It's hard to say, but if the standout defensive back indeed leaves the program, then it will be on Cooper to negotiate his next deal with a new program. To no one's surprise, Colorado and Deion Sanders have already been linked with the sophomore.

Colorado made a hard run at Carter coming out of high school, but he signed with the Vols instead. Not long ago this offseason, Carter reportedly was flirting with the idea of entering the transfer portal, with Colorado once again mentioned as a potential landing spot for him.

He stayed put with Heupel and defensive coordinator Tim Banks, but no one knows what's going to happen with the in-state product. On one hand, there's a chance Carter can apologize to his teammates and make things right before fall camp gets started.

Is it too late for that? That might be the case and Heupel could be forced into making a tough decision. It sure doesn't help that Carter now has a new agent in his ear trying to tell him what he thinks is best for his career moving forward.

In an offseason that's been filled with nothing but drama and speculation for UT, everything that has happened with Carter in recent days is the last thing Heupel needed before kicking off what's going to be a crucial camp for his program.
