Tennessee basketball adds another commitment to the 2025 recruiting class. The Vols signed 2025 point guard Troy Henderson, a point guard out of Richmond, Virginia.

The Vols picked up their recruiting momentum with Henderson after he was released from his National Letter of Intent with Fordham when they fired their head coach.

Other programs, such as Seton Hall, Duquesne, and several Atlantic 10 schools, contacted Henderson after he reopened his recruiting, but he chose to sign with the Vols and has already made a bold statement ahead of his arrival.

"I can do it all," Henderson told 247 Sports. "They're getting a point guard that's a coach on the floor, I'm going to lead the team and I'm going to win."

The Virginia native has become familiar with Rick Barnes and the Tennessee coaching staff over the past year after Barnes watched him play in an AAU tournament, but it took nearly a full year for Tennessee to add his name to its 2025 recruiting class.

Tennessee is losing five players in its backcourt after this season, including Zakai Zeigler, Jordan Gainey, Jahmai Mashack, Chaz Lanier, and Darlinstone Dubar, so Henderson's addition is likely one of many over the next month.

Tennessee now has three commits in the 2025 recruiting class. Henderson joins four-star shooting guard Amari Evans and four-star center Dewayne Brown.

With the transfer portal recently opening, Barnes and the Vols have plenty of time to add more players to their 2026 roster. Several big-name players, including some familiar names, have entered the portal, but the Vols have yet to add a commit out of it.

Tennessee will look to win its next two games this weekend and advance to the Final Four for the first time in program history. The Vols will first have to go through SEC rival Kentucky in the Sweet 16. Tennessee and Kentucky will tip off on Friday at 7:39 PM ET on TBS and TruTV.
