Former Alabama quarterback and ESPN analyst Greg McElroy is not a fan of Tennessee's defense against Florida's offense ahead of the Saturday night rivalry matchup.

Unsurprisingly, McElroy has been critical of the Vols and quarterback Joey Aguilar throughout the season, letting his alliance with the Crimson Tide guide his opinion of the Vols.

"Florida is still a remarkably talented football team," McElroy said. "That's what's so funny about this. Like, they're so talented, man. It's almost always hard picking against them because of how good they are. It's just, I don't trust them. What kind of effort am I going to get?

"And then on the other side, I don't love Tennessee's defense at all. I don't know what the heck has happened there this year. I feel like calling a game should be like making an orchestra. And when I watch Tennessee's defense, it's like the trumpets are doing their own thing. The violin is doing their own thing. The percussion is all over the place."

Florida does have a solid team. The defense can put together an elite performance on any given night, and the offense has the potential to be one of the most explosive in the country, but they have proven time and again this year that they aren't that kind of team.

Given how Florida's offense has performed this year, the Vols' defense should have a strong chance to shut them down with the right game plan. The gators have scored more than 25 points in only two games this year, both against Long Island and Texas.

Expect the Gators to at least get close to that mark, if not surpass it, but the Vols aren't such a bad mismatch that the Gators will be able to run all over the Vols' defense.

Tennessee knows how people are talking about them and the low expectations coming into this game, with no Tennessee team leaving the Swamp with a win in more than two decades, but that doesn't mean the Vols won't be ready to go into Gainesville and pull out a win.
