Obviously, the everyday fan of football is going to get excited when a newer edition of EA Sports College Football comes out. However, it isn't just exciting for the fans. It's pretty dang fun for the players, too.

Tennessee teammates DeSean Bishop and Braylon Staley sat down, with a handful of teammates behind them, to face off as... well... themselves in the recently released College Football 26.

Yes, they were even playing as Tennessee versus Tennessee in Neyland Stadium.

After big-time plays and jaw-dropping moments, both Bishop and Staley got hyped that they had blown past their teammate, who was lined up on the other side of the virtual line of scrimmage. This was despite the fact that both players are perfectly capable of pulling off these moves in real life, unlike most people who grab the controllers.

Bishop is heading toward his sophomore season for the Volunteers after acting as RB2 last year behind Dylan Sampson. Staley, who played in just two games last season, is facing his redshirt freshman season with Tennessee.

DeSean Bishop freshman season stats

  • 10 games played
  • 74 carries
  • 455 rushing yards
  • 3 rushing touchdowns
  • 1 reception
  • 10 receiving yards

Bishop made a name for himself last season, despite being the backup running back, and even earned 22 yards in the Vols' gut-wrenching loss to the eventual National Champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Braylon Staley redshirt seasons stats

  • 2 games played
  • 3 receptions
  • 21 receiving yards

Despite barely seeing the field during his true-freshman season, Staley did play a few snaps against the Buckeyes, earning two of his three receptions for the season and 11 yards through the air in Tennessee's singular postseason game of the year.

Both Bishop and Staley are expected to see a massive increase in playing time during the coming season, which kicks off on Aug. 30 against the Syracuse Orange. Hopefully, their time spent playing College Football 26 prepares them to produce even more impressive stats in 2025.
