UPDATE: It has since been revealed that Gerald Mincey will not be playing on Saturday due to injury. Mincey has started the first seven games of the year for the Wildcats, but he exited the loss to Auburn last week early after getting hurt.

There are almost too many storylines to count for the upcoming meeting this Saturday night at Neyland Stadium. The Tennessee Volunteers vs. the Kentucky Wildcats? What else needs to be said here - it's a rivalry that fans love watching, especially with Tennessee dominating things.

Things are only made more interesting with offensive tackle Gerald Mincey making his way back to Knoxville for the first time since leaving the program. Mincey ended up signing with the Wildcats and he took a brutal shot at the Vols not too long after.

In case you forgot, Mincey said that he was going to be ready to smack Tennessee in the mouth when he made his return to Neyland. Those are words that Vols' players will surely have in the back of their minds when they take the field this weekend.

Tennessee players should be motivated to make Gerald Mincey eat his words

"I think I owe it to all the Kentucky fans to handle business on Nov. 2. So I’m excited for that. Kentucky has got to do more to earn it. I’m glad. I love the underdog (role), so when we go there Nov. 2 to Neyland and we bust them in the mouth, we can put the standard back over here."

Mincey sure was a bit ahead of himself there. As things stand, Kentucky has looked like one of the worst teams in the SEC and fans are calling for Mark Stoops to be fired. Meanwhile for Tennessee, well, things are just a bit better.

The Vols are 6-1 on the year and the No. 7 team in the country. It's looking quite likely that this team will be headed to the College Football Playoff, which will speak volumes to the tremendous work being done by Josh Heupel and his staff.

Soon enough, these two rivals will be taking the field at Neyland and Mincey is going to hope Kentucky can back up his smack talk. However, his former teammates, who are probably still ticked off over what he had to say, will have something to say about that. On Saturday night, we'll see who will get the last laugh here.
