Sanford Stadium is one of the most unique stadiums in the SEC. The stadium is known as “Between the Hedges” because of the privet hedges that surround the field. Saturdays in Athens provide one of the great college football experiences, with Uga the live bulldog, and the singing of “Glory, Glory” there’s plenty of tradition for any college football fan.
An interesting fact about Sanford Stadium is that the fans have only rushed the field one time in the stadium’s existence, in 2000 after a win against who else, the Tennessee Volunteers.
